Captain Ron Nielsen has been helping anxious flyers overcome their fears for over 30 years. He has generously extended his expertise, humor, and compassion worldwide through many media interviews and a free weekly live stream for fearful flyers via his website and Facebook page. While Captain Ron’s popular fear of flying classes are currently only offered in the Phoenix and LA areas, through his website anyone can access free of charge his initial classes for fearful flyers, along with other videos and resources.

Patrick Smith and Doug Worrall are commercial pilots who also are very generous in helping fearful flyers. You’ll find their books and websites in the publications list below. If you have a specific question, they will likely respond to it through their websites.
Dr. Martin Seif is an expert in anxiety disorders and a leader in the treatment of fear of flying.  He has directed a very successful fear of flying program in New York for over 15 years. His website offers an abundance of helpful information about anxiety and phobias, and includes a comprehensive free self-help section for anxious flyers. 
Dr David Carbonell, author of the Fear of Flying Workbook, has conducted a successful fear of flying program in the Chicago area for many years. His website offers a wealth of free information and self-help for anxiety disorders and fear of flying. In addition to his terrific workbook for anxious flyers, Dr. Carbonell’s workbook for panic attacks, also listed in the publications list below, includes a chapter specifically for aviophobia.
Dr. Reid Wilson, a North Carolina psychologist, is renown for his work with anxiety disorders and fear of flying. Through the years he has made major contributions to fear of flying initiatives, including designing a program for a major airline.  Along with free help for a variety of anxiety disorders, his site also offers an extensive free self – help section for fear of flying.
Drs. Sally Winston and Steven Shearer direct the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland,LLP. This center, located in the Baltimore area, has provided individual help and group support for fear of flying since the early ’90s. In addition to the useful information and self-help strategies for anxiety and fear of flying, their website also offers a good introduction to cognitive behavioral strategies for a variety of concerns. 
Dr Les Posen, a psychologist in Melbourne, Australia, is a specialist in Aviation Psychology and anxiety disorders who has been helping fearful flyers for several decades. His website offers an abundance of info on the various aspects of aviophobia and the strategies for effective treatment.
